Mine is a line from a Gary Numan song. I find it to be sufficiently creepy with a hint of perversion.

What's your deal????

Most people that have them call them signatures.

Mine's from the excellent Radio 4 comedy show "Think The Unthinkable".

Mine is a reference to the seminal Depeche Mode hit, "Enjoy the Silence."

It's a detail of the David Bowie / "Breaking Glass" song lyric from the Low recording; It was a breakthrough album for me personally.

Baby, i've been, breaking glass in your room again
Listen

Don't look at the carpet, i drew something awful on it
See

You're such a wonderful person
But you got problems oh-oh-oh-oh
I'll never touch you

My tagline is that signatures lick balls.

(And if you're going to delete a post, have the balls to tell the author that you did it.)

I think obs wins the award for most hostile, aggressive, negative, offensive and self righteous posts.

[/quote]Well obs, since you put it out there so succinctly.. are you speaking for yourself?

If so, please direct your grievance(s) to the profile email of the individual you have taken issue with.

As far as my sig is concerned, the former part reflects my commitment to be forthright and honest despite the challenges and affronts one often faces as a mod while the latter part is a sardonic trekker infused sociological reference further expanded on via the linked hypertext.

Mine is from a line in a song (Synthesizer Man by Invisible Zoo)where it says "Instead of smoking cigarettes with other little boys, Doug (that's me) got lost in a world of noise. His ears reached over and opened his eyes; he began to synthesize."

world of noise

What? No childish? I thought childish is always used in these statements ;).

You mean in regards to signatures or the fact that my post was deleted? I can't really send a message to the person who deleted the post since I don't know who did it. Oh, sure I'm speaking for myself. I'm not so arrogant that I speak for others :).

Anyways, one line signatures I don't really have a problem with. But when the signature is longer than the actual text of a post, it's rather useless. And signatures with banners are the worst. If there's going to be banners on a website, it should at least provide revenue for the host of the website. The whole issue would be moot if there was an option for signatures to be ignored (not displayed).

No, no, no, it's defamatary. Defamatory!

I bet I know...

Back to the topic, should I have a sig? Does anyone want me to have a sig? See, I always thought sigs were kind of bandwidth wasters -- especially if you post a lot -- but if you guys want me to have a sig, I'll have a sig. Hell, I won't just have that sig, I'll smoke that sig. Maybe somebody can start a poll? "Should SomebodySomewhere have a sig?" Whomever starts it, please make sure to have one of the options be, "Yes, and it should be blatantly offensive and defamatory!"
