I am a patient boy. I wait I wait I wait...

I know it takes time but I was thinking that if no-one seems to miss it, it could go away.

I miss it!!! (If you didn't have such good taste in obscurities, I wouldn't bug you about it....!)

If you can't post a new one every week, you could rename it "Song of the Month", "Song of the Quarter" or "Song of the Year".

That section is actually being changed to "Ass Du Jour", and to minimize upkeep, a single relentless and purposeless Hall of Fame member, deserving of the title far far above all others, will be permanently enshrined! [}:)]

Hey gang ... I know I've dropped the ball on the Song of the Week-now-going-on-Month, but I fear that it has been eclipsed by the endless sharing in the Obscure80's section of the board. I guess I'm beginning to feel like it has run its course as its own page. I'd like to consider making it a sticky topic on the board. Chime in and lemme know what you think.

"Ass du Jour" ... that might just be me if I don't get my said posterior in forward motion.[:o)]

Don't underestimate the song of the week...that's what got the long timers on board here, and tradition (even internet tradition) should count for something. Besides, why jinx yourself?

I like the "Song of the Week". I just checked yesterday to see if anything new was posted.

[/quote]Mike, your consistency (and generosity) is to be applauded. Sure, there's an occasional SOTW that doesn't float my boat, but that's rare. Keep 'em comin'!!
*putting on my dunce cap*
I'm not sure what a "sticky topic" is; just tell me where the song will be.[:D]

It's a much appreciated effort, heck, this whole site is, if its a time issue, another idea may be to have a different member each week post one song and do the little blurb, maybe even make it a forum section. Just an idea!

And a good one. Just don't expect a typical one from me. My taste in music is...weird.

That's actually something I've considered -- something a bit like ekahob's Lost Bands Blog (http://lostbands.blogspot.com). I certainly welcome submissions (email me privately) along with a brief description of the artist/song, etc. I'm going to hit Obscure80's meister Spaz up for a list of his long lost faves in the MFV library. That should built up a nice base of tunes to choose from.

Thanks for all the support ... much appreciated!

I agree Mike that it should be continued, perhaps with the suggested member supplied track and brief expository background summary.

Too many great obscure songs out there that are beggging for a revisit.

While the shared tracks here are nice, I've always considered Mike P's selections the canonical new wave obscurities. I've discovered enough new old bands through the SOTW that I respect and appreciate his guidance. So keep the Song of the Week!

The Song of the Week is a tradition that must stay in any manner or form. Ive usually liked Mikes picks--(more Lil Bo Bitch please!!!!)-but, if we are need to help provide something , here is Randy's song of the week.

Nordland is a band out of Switzerland from the mid 80's. Here is their tune "Just Keep It Away"--one of many all time favorites. Hope you agree.
