What's your #1 album of all time?

New Wave/Punk music, culture, genres, memories. '80s revivalism and other relevant topics.

gumby, while I wouldn't call it my #1 record, I have to say that I have a strange surprising love for that Juliana Hatfield album also. I like the melodies, the way she sounds, the way the band plays...usually this is NOT my kind of music - - but this one struck a nerve for some reason. "This is the Sound", "For the Birds" and "Spin the Bottle" are maybe my favorites but I find something I like in each track. Weird...

Talk Talk's "Spirit of Eden" without question. To the casual radio listener, this was good. To the initiated, this is tremendous. In a quiet room with headphones, immerse yourself in this. It would be hard to come away from the experience unconverted. A truly great band, that deserved far greater success. Somehow, I think they would be better received today alongside other introspective and emotive bands.

If I could buy my reasoning,
I would pay to lose

Great album and so close to being my number one too. Check out the thread we had about this a while back:

I agree, today's music fans would be more apt to get it.

My guess is you hear the word "Fucktard" directed at you a lot.

What an asinine statement. Do you even think before you type? The question was "What's YOUR #1 album of all time?" , which everyone answered as asked. What seems to be the problem?

FYI, the definition of "objective" is "undistorted by emotion or personal bias". Exactly what the fuck is a favorite if not based on emotion (a mental state that arises spontaneously rather than through conscious effort and is often accompanied by physiological changes; a feeling) and/or personal bias (preference or an inclination, especially one that inhibits impartial judgment??? Let me know if you need "impartial" defined.

I passed over this thread until now as they tend to be pissing contests, and you all know I'm above that sort of thing.[}:)][:D] Now, I'm glad I stopped in...Motors, I spewed coffee all over my desk when I read EHEHEH. Fucking hilarious!

I don't have a favorite lp...I just don't listen to whole albums/CD's, never could. But, if I had to go with one I guess it would be Sleep Convention.

Pinkees - Pinkees

Fantastic album and "Danger Games" is my fave single of the 80s, if not all time.

Jazz - Mezzoforte - Surprise Surprise

Contains the classic "Garden Party" and there isn't a bad track on there. I have tons of their material and love the lot! [8D]
