Ian Curtis Biopic Soundtrack

Postby cubby » Mon Jun 26, 2006 9:19 am

This is according to the NME.

Bowie, Iggy join New Order
Stars set Ian Curtis biopic soundtrack
David Bowie, Roxy Music and Iggy Pop are among the acts confirmed to join New Order on the soundtrack to the new film about Joy Division singer Ian Curtis, 'Control'.

As already reported on NME.COM, New Order, who formed from the ashes of Joy Division after Curtis committed suicide in 1980, are to perform the score for the movie, which begins filming in July.

But the soundtrack will also feature original Joy Division and Warsaw (as they were initially known) songs.

Other acts set to appear on the soundtrack include Buzzcocks, Lou Reed and the Sex Pistols, reports New Order fansite worldinmotion.net.

The movie will be directed by Anton Corbijn, and features Sam Riley - the frontman of indie band 10,000 Things - in the role of Curtis.

Huh-I had heard that Jude Law was up for the role of Ian-it is a good likeness.

Sam Riley sure has the dream role of a lifetime.....WOW. This is one film that I'll be looking most forward to. I'm sure there'll be a screening in downtown New York like there was for 24 Hour Party People.

"Control".

I fear things like this. They have so much more potential to be bad than good. You get "good" so few times.

It's the same with the Germs movie. I know that they're just gonna fuck the whole thing up.
