Your Music H(e)aven

Postby Grunch » Thu Jul 06, 2006 11:36 am

We all have this great passion for new wave, and lots of music in general. So I thought it might be interesting for anyone wishing to share photos of their haven away from the madness, where only music matters at those moments. Here are few shots of my little haven away from it all. These are in my CD/Listening room, where I just keep my bookshelf Bose speakers and some listening and recording equipment. My main system is elsewhere. I use another room as another CD/LP room, next to this one. Some day when I have it better organized, I'll shoot some pics in there. The photos you see here have actually already changed a little, some minor changes as needed, etc.....I actually lined the walls with some of my favorite LP jackets (extras bought cheap at garage sales, etc....and jackets that have good memories of things in my life for one reason or another, so they all have significance to me. Then I have my Beatles wall (can;t really see it or appreciate it all in the photos). OK Motors.........I know you are a closet Beatle fan.....right......I also used cheap 45's to fill in gaps, selecting classic 45 labels from the past 5 decades, and some vinyl here and there. I've got about another 100 blank CD's to put up on the ceiling so the stereo lights play off them with all the lights out, plus little glowing space stuff in between. To put up the LP jackets, I used regular tacks, apllied from within the LP jackets to the wall, so when in the room, there are no visible tacks on the jackets at all. I like it, I spend lots of time in there when not on my computer, which is in my other CD/LP room. Hope you like 'em!!

That's pretty sweet Grunch, Beatles or no. I have a cd/lp/cassette room as well, but nowhere near as big and the bookcases full of music cover so much wall space that I don't have room left to display any flats, ticket stubs, autographs etc ... [:(] In fact soon the cd room will be emptied out to become my own little recording studio (I'm getting sick of my dining room being nothing but wires and power strips) and the cd's will end up in the living room or sth (Hi Mechi [:D]).

Are those black cabinets can-am cabinets? If so, how do you like them? I've been thinking of buyimg some of those.

Yep, Can-am. I like them though they are a bit pricey, but nice for organizing CD's. I hope I don't have to buy any more!! Even with my other room, I have no more space for them.

I hope I can get my cds room someday cos it's like an epidemia of cds all around my house. My mum is always complaining about them being all over the place. [:D]

Motors... see how useful "sth" is???? Saves you a lot of typing. [;)]

I picked up some old 8 tracks for nostalgia. Kind of a little historic piece, albeit not that long ago really.
