We're Opening For HUMAN LEAGUE!!!

Postby Darvoset » Tue Jul 11, 2006 4:09 pm

If ya live in the So. California Area, our band 'Darvoset' is opening for Human League on September 22th at the Galaxy Theatre. We're really excited about it, they are definitely one of our heroes. We had just opened for ABC a few months back, so we've been on a decent roll with the gigs. Hopefully it will continue. So yeah, come check out the gig if you can!

Also we posted 2 new songs on our myspace player 'Eating Dirt' and Faith in You', along side 'Underneath' and 'Want It' , come give them a spin at www.myspace.com/darvoset If you're on myspace add us if you like what you hear! You can also hear more of our songs at our official site at: http://darvoset.4t.com/music.html

Ps. havent been on here for a while, been doing the band thing 24/7, but to all my friends i used to chat with alot on here. I hope you are all doing great and life is treating you well!

Is it 1982?...
Nope, that's impossible cause we're on the internet. Hey, congratulations on the gig. [:D]

Dar. That is awesome! Pics of you and Mr. F-R-Y! From everything Ive read and seen he seems like a classy chap. I think its a wonderful thing (though some here dont) that hes still out there today touring and putting out CDs. More power to him and you of course!

Congrats on the Human League gig, I saw them about 2 years ago. I hope they are not using the same sound people. The songs were great but for a small venue the sound was way out of control and I was right behind the guys on the board, I think they must have been drunk or something. Poor Mr. Oakley was basically screaming to be heard over everything else and his voice did crack at times , that is just wrong. If that were my soundboard eng I would have fired his ass on the spot.Needless to say it was still a good show. Does your band have a CD available?

magic!

Yeah, Mr. Fry was possibly the nicest person you could ever meet. Very genuine and down to earth. Most headlining bands dont give a s*** about the openers, but he invited us to dinner, let us hang in his tourbus and also paid us a visit quite a few times in our dressing room.

As for our cd, our debut album is available at:

It's great to see that Darvoset will be back at The Galaxy. I was at that ABC show. Martin Fry is a class act. See you guys again for Human League.

I saw Human League a couple years back at The Grove up in Anaheim and it was awesome. No sound problems there. I didn't know what to expect since that was the first time I saw them. I was blown away. Great performances from Oakey and the girls.

"When all is said and done, you're just a dirty whore
So get your shit and start walking out the door
Thinking you can sleep with any willing slut
You'll never touch me again, your self-supply is cut"

It's not quite Lennon or McCartney, but it has a certain Jungian archetypal wit about it. A powerful declaration of Freudian ego for the independent child in all of us that has ever had their purity cast aside by the foul aroma of a dirty, dirty whore.

Rock on, Patch!

I'm the dude with the patch...Hmm, I guess we consider ourselves umm...Dark Electronic New Wave Rock. But, we're not much into labels, i guess thats for the audience to decide, if they feel we'r goth, pop, metal, synthpop or whatever, who are we to argue? lol. [:)]

ahh, sweetness!! yeah, hopefully we'll get a soundcheck this time around. Some of the guys from ABC were late to the gig and didnt show up till the very last hour before showtime. We were only given a 2 minute line check. So yeah, hopefully we'll get one this time!! And thanks for buying the cd! We're hoping to have tshirts, stickers, buttons etc available by that gig. [:)]
