Worst '80s song titles

Postby Spaz » Sun Aug 20, 2006 11:22 am

I don't know 'bout you, but a few song titles from '80s bands that make my skin crawl are:

"Ooh To Be Ah" (Kajagoogoo)
"Unskinny Bop" (Poison)

This is NOT about the songs themselves, just the titles. Well, OK, so the Poison song sucks and I have not purposely listened to the 'googoo track in 20 years, but do you have songs with titles that are just embarrassing to think about?

Escape (The Pina Colada Song) - Rupert Holmes

What a stupid-ass title. Just leave it at "Escape" for cliff's sake [;)]

That one in particular really chaps my hide because I remember people at the time telling me how clever this song was. Eveyone was so smarmy because they thought they were the only ones who got the joke...sheesh!!

Karma Chameleon
(Hip and ironic title? No, just lame and goofy)

Chicken Outlaw
(Stupid name, irritating song)

Goonies R Good Enough
(Please...)

I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight
(By a group with an even lamer name, Cutting Crew)

Yah Mo B There
(Michael Mc Donald's miserable attempt at ebonics)

I know there's more but my brain hurts now.

Urgh, that silly "Chicken Outlaw" song; not only a stinker, but dumb title.

Yes, that one's awful. Although to its credit, if it wasn't attached to the film, it would have just been titled "Good Enough." Which is... good enough for me, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.
