Greatest Combined A AND B-side Ever?

Postby Frau_Blucher » Wed Sep 13, 2006 3:29 am

What do you think was the greatest (or your favorite) new wave single of all time, both sides combined, where both are or should be considered classics in their own rite? These should not include promos, later comps on import/export, etc...original singles only. Very interested in your thoughts 'cause I'm terrible with stuff like this.

I like Echo & the Bunnymen's "Killing Moon/Do It Clean" but I'm sure I've forgotten a ton of great things. I’d also think there are few things more seminal than “TVOD/Warm Leatherette”.

I have to agree with New Order's True Faith/1963

On the more obscure side, Fallout Club's Wonderlust and Desert Song is at the top for me.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure the original b-sides to those were Marine Boy and Boat Party respectively. Those were both a-sides. I think you're thinking of a Japanese or other import...although Love Plus One/Marine Boy is certainly not bad in its own rite.

Lots of good ones posted, but it's tough to imagine anything beating this one in my book.
