Which is softer, Charmin or Cottonelle?

Personally I don't like classifications very much when they come to the toilet paper industry. I believe they used the term 2-ply to boost the sales of their chickens like Charmin and Cottonelle. So in my opinion we should refrain from using the terms 1-ply and 2-ply as well as whatever sub-classifications, on this forum because we are somehow diluting the whole concept of butt-wiping. In France, they are trained to develop a cartesian asshole and to call a deuce a deuce, therefore the term ply doesn't make any sense. I believe my own definition of gentle, mainstream and power toilet paper is much clearer but U are entitled to think otherwise. However be prepared to adjust your vocabulary. I heard that THEY are coming out with 3-ply next year.[:D]

I found that Targets brand is equal in softness and thickness to Charmin.
Seriously, give it a try. It's like half the price too.

I grew on up military PX brands. I've had to endure all kinds of asswipes, be they gentle, power or mainstream, at home and at work, nu styles to retro, small sizes to XXX, stellar and not so stellar, a to Z...the entire panorama of asswipes.

When I used to live and travel overseas, you were lucky if you even found toilet paper. It was an adventure. In Latvia, they just cut newspaper into strips for TP in most people's homes. And if you DID find TP in the Soviet-era shops, it was like Grit 80 ! Really, I swear.
