The Atlantics

The Atlantics

Just picked up The Atlantics at CDBaby.com

This CD features 13 tracks from their private collection. It says most were never released. I compared the 13 tracks on my CD to their LP Big City Rock. None of the CD tracks are from that LP. Not sure if they had another LP back then, but this CD features songs from 1979-1982 according to the CD information.

"Lonelyhearts" and "Can't Wait Forever" (1980 7" single on Ace of Hearts) were the only previously released tracks. Everybody in Boston had that record. I haven't picked up the CD yet, but I remember 4 of the unreleased tracks from Boston radio and 1 from a live show. The rest were completely new to me. The band were passing demos around trying to get resigned after the ABC/MCA deal went up in smoke, but it never happened. I'm just glad the CD finally happened. Ray was trying to get the wheels in motion for a very long time. There were a lot of things standing in the way.
