Ohhhh it hurts, it hurts! I had to buckle down & really look at what songs I hit the "repeat" button on. I can't stand cutting out Elvis Costello, The Police & the Pretenders, but I probably have heard those songs so much over the years. I've gotten tired of them, or just don't listen to them as much anymore. Some new things have crept in & many from my last list remain.

So, here's my list, in order of favoritude!

Blondie - Pretty Baby
Blondie - Hanging On the Telephone
Rachel Sweet - Who Does Lisa Like?
Rachel Sweet - Pin a Medal on Mary
Edith Nylon - Edith Nylon C'est Moi
The Reducers - Let's Go
Simple Minds - Speed Your Love
The Killing Joke - Night Time
Devo - Gates of Steel
Marshall Crenshaw - Rockin' Around NYC
The Neighborhoods - Think It Over
Icicle Works - Understanding Jane
Blondie - Dreaming
Missing Persons - Here and Now

Cheap Trick - I Want You to Want Me
Big Country - In a Big Country
Big Country - Harvest Home
Carolyne Mas - Sadie Says
X - Los Angeles
Experimental Products - Glowing in the Dark
Josie Cotton - License to Dance
Public Image - Public Image
The Ramones - The Return of Jackie and Judy
The Monroes - What Do All the People Know

2. To make tabulation easier, do not post any numbers and just list "Band - Song" just like that.
[/quote]
Please note the above request. With thousands of songs to parse, I will not be re-parsing things that appear as "Song - Band" rather than "Band - Song", in quotations, with numbers, ALL CAPS, or in bold so as to seem to denote its somehow elevated status above others. Your efforts will have been for naught. [}:)][;)]

Reading other people's top 50, and seeing what's done last time-- I think Blir you should've allowed us 100--I would be agonizing over that number and STILL going by my rule of listing an artist only once as I did!

--I know as if that would make life easier for you.

Thanks for doing this, and you may need to make gentle reminders from time to time for those who have not followed your requests. Because I have to admit at first, I was listing numbers, too, and then I stopped myself.

I thought 50 might make it easier for people, but I guess there's no easy number. Too small and you have a brutal cut list. Too big and you don't get as many submissions. I think we got only 25 last time. So I figured we'd do it like those countdown lists do...they ask for a smaller number and draw a bigger top xxx from that.

...but you had to go off and get hitched with somebody else! [V]

And yeah, definitely evolving, and everyone's input from the NWO certainly plays no small part in that. The stuff that people like Schwenko, Eight6, Spaz, MikeP, Grunch, MSK, Randy, Otters, Hensoneno, FritzB and NUMEROUS others (not to leave anyone out) have laid on me has had a huge impact.
