Dear God, and I thought No Doubt's cover of It's My Life sucked. Glenn Gregory must be rolling over in his grave..[:D]

... I know of one other H17 cover, the Fire Engines take on "Fascist Groove Thang" famously described as 'rough as a badger's arse'! They shared the same label (Fast Product) and manager (Bob Last).

..... anyone heard H17's take on the 'fast' version of Human League's 'Being Boiled'? Quality stuff

It's on an album called "Before After", which is also on iTunes. I don't have the song, but the preview sounds pretty good. Here's the link:

While looking up Shiny Toy Guns on iTunes, I stumbled across another cover done by Heaven 17, from a Prince tribute. On this one, they cover "Sign o' the Times":

.... man, I forgot about that! The B side to "I'm your money", it's on the CD for the recent rerelease of "Penthouse & Pavement". Cheers to the bloke who also gave the tip on the Prince cover - I didn't know about that, duely DLed offski iTunes.

I recall they did a version of the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" back in the early 90s for a homeless charity, along with a load of other artists doing the sam track.

Talking of H17, today I bought the latest H17 CD compilation called "Sight And Sound" which comes with a DVD with 13 tracks (which I assume are the original promos, will watch it this weekend). If this is the case then this'll be the first time since the "Industrial Revolution" VHS video which came out 20 years ago to get hold of these vids; the IR video used to go for silly money on Ebay.
