<br>The Mothmen-"One Black Dot", from 1981. What an overlooked gem of a postpunk record.

..... the Mothmen were an interesting outfit, in that they released one single which was deleted after just one day. Amazingly, some time later after disbandenment, they all hooked up with Mick Hucknall and became Simply Red!

I know I have it on a comp, but I'm sure Simon had mentioned that it was released as a 7".
It was released as a 7" and it was his website where I got it from. Any idea of the record label or band members as I wouldn't mind chasing them up for an interview.

I'll have a look to see what info is contained in the comp.
Kau Tau...I think they only released one song, right?
Somebody better post this song quick, to label a band "great" that released only on song has piqued my interest.

Who labelled the band as anything other than a single release group?

Frank...there's not much info on the sleeve, other than they were signed to Ten Records out of the U.K. This record is comprised of a bunch of groups signed to small labels and released through PRT Records. Sorry, no band info...song credits only Kau Tau.

Knew it was a longshot but thanks for providing what little info you had.

Did you get my email?

That's them, absolutely fantastic track. Deserved to go on so much from there but didn't. Likewise Final Program and The Time Dance, how something that good be their only release is baffling.

Intersting tidbit but I wonder if you are mentioning a different band with the same name? The Mothmen I mentioned were from the USA and the band members went on to play in the current bands Yume Bitsu and Surface of Eceon.
