INXS dropped from label?:

Postby DJ Phoenix » Tue Nov 14, 2006 4:45 pm

According to various sources/sites, INXS has been dropped by their longtime label, Epic. Pretty sad considering I thought that they re-invented themselves w/their new lead singer. I don't know if this is 100% accurate, but Blender Magazine is reporting it also. Maybe this is false information? Can someone clarify?

The Woes in the Life of a 'Rock Star'

After all the reality TV show hoopla that followed with last year's Rock Star: INXS quest to find a new singer for the group, JD Fortune and Co. today were dropped by their label Epic Records.

If they were "dropped", how could they be on tour, unless another label picked them up?

You're right. They can't be on tour after being dropped, because Epic Records has a clause in the contracts of all their artists, past and present, preventing them from touring without the label's express permission.

If they got dropped, good. Why are they even still around?

INXS should have been long ago advised to go the route of the likes of New Order, Velvet Revolver, and Audioslave:
