The Tubes - She's A Beauty
The Clash - Rock The Casbah
Kajagoogoo - Too Shy
Wham - Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go (Choose Life and Die [:p])
EATB - Bring On The Dancing Horses
The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me (something like that?)
The Ramones - We Want The Airwaves (when it came out, now I like the song.)
Gang of Four - Love A Man In A Uniform/Is it Love? (like both songs more now, then back then).
ABC - most songs after Lexicon of Love!
The Eurythmics - Missionary Man
The Cars - most songs/LPs after Shake It Up! album.
Adam Ant solo - most of his albums
The Bangs/Bangles - anything after their first EP
Animotion - Obsession
XTC - most songs after Big Express album, although I still have many faves...
Erasure - most everything after Wonderland album
The Talking Heads - Burning Down The House
X - most stuff after Wild Gift
Billy Idol - most everything after his first album
The Human League - most songs after Dare album
Wang Chung - Everybody Have Fun Tonight

This one is easy...

Simple Minds - (Don't You) Forget About Me

I lost all respect and interest in the mighty Simple Minds forever after, although I will always love their earlier stuff.

Totally agree! Very New Wave, after two great Power Pop albums; however, "Shake It Up" had a lot of stinkers.
I'll leave you with what Rolling Stone said about Panorama-

"the Cars have cantankerously outdone themselves this time: Panorama isn't merely a joyless joyride, it's an out-and-out drag."

http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/the ... 9/panorama

It was hard to pick just one line from the review because I agree with so much of it.

I remember back in the day hearing that, between the success of their first two albums, touring and producing a third record, Ocasek admitted that he felt he didn't have enough time to do Panorama justice.

I already didn't like the record and when I heard that I thought it made total sense.

Glokstadt had said: The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me (something like that?)

Glok, are you talking about the first song on "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me"? If so, it's called "The Kiss"

You must be talking to me ("You talkin' to me...") about The Cure song, "Kiss?" (Cut 1 on Side 1 - can you even say that now with CDs?)

Maybe it's the whole album I don't even like, which is titles Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me... "Why Can't I Be You" is only so-so IMHO, and I may have onlt heard this album once???

I've never read Rolling Stone, unless by accident it was at the dentist or doctor's office... and as a former music reviewer, everyone has their own opinion, and likes and dislikes... I do like "Panorama," AND it's not as great as the "The Cars" or "Candy-O" -- I can agree. Besides their was no "hot" chick on the cover, just a boring finish-line flag...

Thanks for taking the time to find the review. I did read it. The author, Ken Tucker, makes some valid points, and on the whole really hates the album. Oh, well... [|)]

Meanwhile, the review for Shake It Up says:

For the Cars' superb 1980 album. Panorama, Ric Ocasek wrote about feeling estranged from (and by) the big time, while the band went gung-ho progressive eclectic leap from the lean nonchalance of the first two Cars LPs toward (relative) sincerity.

The Cure's double album Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me is total crap except for the songs CATCH, HOW BEAUTIFUL YOU ARE and JUST LIKE HEAVEN.

I totally agree to BERLIN's Take My Breath Away

Good music depends on the ear of the listener. [:D][:D]

Motels - Take the L

I just heard it the other day & thought how great the verses were, how good the music was, and then that ridiculous chorus ruins the whole thing!

For me, Martha Davis was all about being dark & tortured & kind of spooky...take the L out of lover & it's over is just too much of a joke for someone like that & ruins the image.

But can you deny that it's true? It made less sense to my Korean bruthas..."Take R out of Rubber and it's Ubber..." They were like "WTF?"
