Van Stephenson "Modern Day Delilah"

Found the album with this song on it for 25 cents. I'd forgotten all about it but it did get some MTV airplay. 1984 release date. Not really my definition of new wave, but kind of on the outskirts. Maybe like Martin Briley's "Salt in my Tears" in that it's not really new wave, but wasn't mainstream rock either - - just reminds me nicely of the era.

Do you guys remember this song at all?

Good song. Extremely '80s, and yes it definitely occupies that hazy netherworld between AOR and New Wave.

Loved "Modern Day Delilah" from the first time I heard it back in 1984. I always associate it with Nik Kershaw's "Wouldn't It Be Good" as they were played one after the other by a DJ on WMMS in Cleveland, OH way back when.

I've got both songs on my iPod Shuffle and enjoy running to them.

Never heard this song until I met my wife and found out that her ex-husband loved it. I don't like it, but I do have a magazine from the 80's that reviewed the video.
