A Very 80's Christmas on Long Island Radio

Postby patchyfogg » Thu Dec 21, 2006 9:43 am

Every year, I co-host "A Very 80's Christmas," the Christmas version of a radio show dedicated to the music of the 1980's called Essential 80's.

It's airing tonight (Thursday, though technically Friday morning) from Midnight to 2AM on Nassau County's 90.3FM. So, if you're driving home from the malls, wrapping, baking, etc. and up at that hour, please tune in.

The show will also be re-aired on Saturday morning from 11AM to 1PM--a more reasonable timeslot, I know.

It's 2 hours of 100% commercial-free 80's Christmas tunes you know and love, plus some nuggets you might never have heard before.

Wham, Band Aid, The Waitresses, Erasure, etc., etc. And, we're airing "Giddy Up" by The Dumbells (aka Roxy Music). I'm fairly sure that no New York radio station has played the Christmas tunes by Erasure and Roxy Music this Christmas season.

As always, thanks. And, please tell some friends.

Info on the show can be found at www.myspace.com/essential80s

I will too. I am hoping for "One Christmas Catalogue" by Captain Sensible.

Any streaming available for those of us who live three thousand miles away?

Club80:

That is my favorite 80's Christmas tune (The Payolas being my 2nd favorite), so I can guarantee it. We also sent out an invitation to the good Captain to intro the song, but he got back to us too late.

With that said, the Klark Kent song is really growing on me now, and will be aired next year.

Thanks Patchyfogg!
I will certainly be listening!
Klark Kent....yes, I remember. Stuart Copeland. They had a couple of songs on an IRS 3-album compilation I have.

Just a reminder that it's on at 11AM today. If you're able to tune in, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I wound up missing it. I couldn't get the station to come in at my house.
