Just stumbled in to find this steaming pile of excrement still on the list. There are, in fact, many turds still on the list, but this is the biggest. Ever recorded a cover so awful it brought primal, pants-soiling terror to its listeners?

BTW, #26 is The Go-Go's doing a cover of Fun Boy Three, pull out the album "Beauty and the Beat" and see the credits after the song title: T. Hall!!! Also, #50 Do You Really Want to Hurt Me? was a cover done by Culture Club of Jamacian Rocksteady artist: Junior![/i]

Yes Hall wrote it, but the Go-Go's recorded it first (Fun Boy Three a year later). I didn't know Culture Club's version was a cover--that's news to me (I believe that's Junior of "Momma Used to Say"?--not "The Word Is Out" which is by Jermaine Stewart who collaborated with Boy George at one point as I was trying to associate). Tracey Ullman did a cover of Kirsty Macoll's tune (she did the original version a couple of years earlier on Stiff--it's on the Stiff Records box set).

As for complaints of some of these covers--well, I did say not exactly the cheesy category as there's great ones here, but what am I to do? Ignore Taco--then that's denying the dark recesses of New Wave's past. [:D]
