For fans of Bruce Campbell (Army of Darkness) and New Wave, you can't beat the latest Old Spice commercial. Love 'em all - insanely camp - but this time he's singing "Hungry Like the Wolf" in uber-lounge style on the piano while the hotties slink around him. Completely kills me every time, especially when one of the girls say "Ahoy" and Bruce gives his "Rrff" right at the end. Complete zaney genious.

Ok, it's not New Wave, but the absurdity of it just made my jaw drop. "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard is being used on the promos for the new season of the Martha Stewart Show. What the friggity frackin hell?

"Rock Me Amadeus" in a Subaru commercial, "A car, the Germans wish they had built".

Those earlier mentioned Cadillac commercials (using "Start", etc.), while marketing Cadillac, weren't they also for the Bose version of whatever the model was? Kind of two for one, pushing Cadillac but also a sound system.

Just saw a Kohls ad for Vera Wang's clothing line featuring what I believe was Iggy Pop's version 'The Passenger'.

Please correct me if I'm wrong[:I]

And the latest, at least in California, is "I Melt With You" (Modern English, no cover band!) for taco Bell's meat 'n' cheese whatever mexi-thing they are selling!

Man, they've just been hammering us with this commercial in the northeast. I think I hear Melt With You about 5 times a day now.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Now it's Taco Bell's "Crack That Whip..." using Dev-o's "Whip It."

The song dosen't even make sense to use in their ad... oh well.
