Glok rides his Vespa with loads of friends in 1985

I just wanted to share this history with more than Rotator and Blir.

I found this on YouTube, and had favored it to my account; however, it's now "officially" disabled, and thought I'd share it with you NWo-ers. Especially, those who were former Mods, Scooterists, Rude Boys/Girls, Skinheads, or just plain love Italian scooters. Below is a picture of one of my restored Vespas:

I currently own a 1959 Allstate/Vespa 125, '63 Vespa GS 160, '68 Vespa 150 Super, '79 Vespa P200E, '89 Vespa 50 Special (raced out with Pollini air-intake, PrimaVera gears, etc.) that goes 65 mph!, and a '56 Lambretta LD-150 with side car, that is still in "project" mode, er hem, needs to still be put together and have various paint and platting done to her... all great things take time.

What scooters do you guys have, if any, here at the NWO??? Or even, used to have?

Here I am in 1985 going on Super Scoot II, or maybe we were at III by then... loads of "friends" in the video too, The Question perform "Brand New World" cover song... enjoy! [:D]

Maybe you can spot me, doubt it... my scooter club was called Club Impact, largest in Los Angeles and Orange County when we started it in 1984, I think they disbanded in 1997 or so, don't know for sure when, but loads of memories come back just seeing this video after 22 years, names and faces I remember, etc. Click, play and enjoy, it's a little slice of the Modernist movement in the US/Southern California era, most of the folks started in that scene in '83/'84, but there were old timers like me who started in high school back in '79... [8D]

A nice new one... going to Las Vegas (so far!) for the huge scooter run there from Feb 15th to sunday/monday - prez day!) [:D]

that is so cool, glok! That vid is actually pretty well-made for 1985. Which one are you ? Please tell...oh, I see your later post with your pic on your P200. Those Vespas were so cool, but I wasn't around them too much. In my Senior year of HS, I had to move to Alaska, and NOBODY had a Vespa up there (too cold). But back in Seattle in the early 80s they were quite a presence...I will scan some pix from KYYX's [i]The Wave[/i] mag for some typical pix. I only knew one gal who had one (a baby blue '79 P200, wouldn't you know)--she and her friends were always working on it but she loved that thing to death...hmm, I wonder what became of her and the Vespa.

Way cool.We just got a Vespa dealer back in town after a thirty plus year absence and they are neat looking machines.Scooters are making big gains around here because of soaring gas prices and a longer riding season(thanks global warming) not to forget the Japanese makes have their own verions on the market.Strange I,ve only seen one Bombardier Spyder around town,have any of you folks saw one yet?
