Chameleons "Script..." reissue?

Chameleons "Script..." reissue?

Postby korova1 » Tue Mar 11, 2008 6:58 am

Hey there, just wondering if the Chameleons Anniversay Reissue 2CD is still supposed to come out soon? Anybody out there know?

This is probably my favorite 80's album straight up... checked on the Chameleons website back in August... Mark Burgess said the reissue was supposed to be out at the end of 2007 at the latest. Now checking back on the website there is not a trace of the original press release he put out on the band's site and there are a couple blurbs about Mark's new autobiography coming out this month.

Just curious since some people have connections... anyone know if the SOTB remaster 2 CD reissue is still planned or was it called off? Bummer if it isn't coming out after all... :(

Both book and reissue are due in April. You can pre-order a signed copy of "A View From a Hill" here:

Blue Apple Music should have the CD on their web site soon:

That book is 782 pages? Umm, I might wait for the Readers Digest edition.

Excellent news, my Dead Dead Good reissue started skipping only a couple of years after I bought it. Script has to be one of the best debut albums ever..definitely a Top 10 album for me.

I received the reissue in the mail today. Pretty nice package. Paid extra for the 25th anniversary shirt as well. Hopefully more reissues are coming...

Yay, mine was waiting for me at home after this weeks roadtrip. Got the black shirt as well. Sweet package...will have to try to track down Burgess to sign it if Bird comes around in concert again.

Any thoughts on the sound quality of this. I listened to it in my car yesterday and today. I will post comments later. Just curious to see what anybody thinks.

Ok, made it thru both CD's. Sound quality is okay, not overall what I thought I'd be getting. Some dropouts here and there, definitely must have been made off a tape master of some sort. There is some overmodulation in parts, eg. at the end of Up The Down Escalator and a few other peaked notes. I suppose working off 25 year old tapes isn't easy, but I am 50/50 on this mix. Nice to have but it could have been better. Anybody else get it and wish to share an opinion?
