"New" New Order

From Planet Sound, teletext:

New Order heed the call
New Order are to give a full release to their final songs, PS can reveal.

The band recorded seven songs from the sessions for Waiting For The Sirens' Call in 2005, which will appear as part of a reissue campaign next year.

Stephen Morris said: "The remaining Sirens ones are the biggest we haven't released. We all really want to give them a big push, they're too good to be thought of as unreleased leftovers."

New Order have reformed to work on a series of reissues, PS can reveal.

All four of the band are working on remasters of their old albums for a series of reissues, which will be released early next year.

Stephen Morris told PS: "I was talking to Hooky a couple of weeks ago, and he's found some old tapes for the extra tracks. We're all getting involved in hunting down unreleased stuff."

Despite reforming to remaster their old albums, New Order are "very unlikely" to release any new music.

Stephen Morris told PS: "I'd say any more new stuff from New Order is very unlikely in the foreseeable future, and any gigs even less likely than that."

He added: "I'd never rule anything out. If you'd said to me in 1994 that we'd make more albums again, I'd have said 'No chance, you've had your chips.'"

I guess Hooky realized that cross-mixing Love Will Tear Us Apart with Love Will Keep Us Together at his DJ sets plays only so many times before you have to pay the rent.

Funny, I was watching some techno documentary, and Derrick May or one of those Detroit godfathers was talking about how you go into a club, and you find that Boy George is the deejay and it's like, WTF???

Yeah, the whole celebrity DJ thing is getting a bit bizarre. I read an interview with Tommy Lee (yeah, the Tommy Lee from Motley Crue) in a recent issue of DJ Times and how he loved playing club music, how he "brings down the house". I think he did a set at Pacha in NYC. The whole thing was just too strange for me.

"Bizarre" is not the half of it. Here in Vegas, it's almost comical, as many of these shitty clubs here hire alot of these celebrity jackasses to "DJ" their events, and truth be told, 95% of them can't mix cake batter, much less records. Tommy Lee has never "brought down the house" at any club he's spun @ I can assure you. He's a horrendous DJ and spins the same SHIT music @ every gig. Myself and a couple of really REALLY good DJ friends of mine went to an event he was @(we got free tix to), and they both laughed at his "DJ skills" and said they wouldn't have him play a funeral, much less a club.

It's all Bullshit man, the whole "celebrity DJ thing". No one gives 2 shits if Tommy Lee, Danny Masterson, or any other "celebrity" is djing @ a club, as most of the places they spin aren't very good anyways. Plus, it's just a marketing scam to get people to come into their shitty establishment(s). if you have to pay some "celebrity"- $50,000- $100,000 to come in and spin @ your place, then you're place isn't very good to begin with. Nobody who has any sense would allow a "celebrity", especially not very credible ones, to come in and go anywhere near any DJ equipment.

Ive heard alot of them, and they ALL SUCK. Including these useless women who go around claiming to be: "World hottest DJ", "worlds sexiest DJ"...etc...no one cares.

While I find it cool that women can spin, and some are very good, alot of them are shit, and they know it. They ruin it(much like the "celebrity" dj's) for guys like you and me, who have put in their time and spun inm shitholes, and dives for no $$$$, while they haven't done anything, and just used their name to get these gigs.

I laugh continually whenever i see ads for "celebrity djs" spinning @ clubs here, as most of them are a joke.

I just talked to Tommy and he's crushed by your disapproval. I tried to tell him not to worry about it; to take solace in the fact that he's a brilliant drummer with millions of fans, an 8 figure bank account, a huge cock, and no shortage of hot young women throwing themselves at him. He's still pretty despondent about the whole thing and says none of that matters as he desparately craves the admiration of a bunch of wannabee "real" dj's. I hope you all feel cool now.

Yeah well I just talked to Mick Mars and he said Tommy's DJing was ass, those 'hot' young women are Vince Neil's castoffs, he didn't play a single drum on Dr Feelgood, and his bank account only has eight figures if you count six digits after the decimal point. Mick does not disagree that Tommy is a huge cock.
