I wrote them a second time, still waiting. Why doesn't someone just post the corrected tracks here?

For those of us about to buy this set, is there a different catalogue number or any other way to identify which version is being purchased?

Nope. Nothing. Same cat#, same everything. The matrix numbers on the disc are different, but the writing is so small that I can't read either pressings.

The only difference I can see was a slight different in colouration of the booklet, but I don't know if that's just the particular copy of the original that I received. In any case, you need both versions to be able to notice.

If you have the chance to listen to the discs, you can tell if it's the new version by listening to track 203, You Take Me Up. The original pressing starts as soon as you skip to that track (00:00), whereas on the fixed pressing, there's 2s of silence before the music starts.

edit// Wow, Amazon.co.uk has Side Kick + Into the Gap for 5UKP each.

I simply said" Hello, My name is Jeff, I hope you're all doing well on your side of town :), Im from the states, I recently purchased the Thompson Twins 2 disc cd set "Into the gap".......and noticed that the sound quality on the second disc was very poor, was this intentional? I love the group, and welcome the remaster, but was disappointed to find this after buying it.I've been told you are in the process of replacing those discs? Great news for all the TT fans!!! I can send you the catalog numbers from my discs, or whatever needed, We appreciate it, if thats the case, LMK what i need to do to receive a replacement? Thanks for your time."

They got backto me 2 days later.

Hi All, I left a message in their feedback section, asking them about a sound problem on the disc and hoped they might help. They replied back to me the next day wanting my address.

weren't you the one baffled as to why any of us wanted to get replacement discs in the first place? you were all sunshine and lollypops about the whole reissue deal, actually incredulous that we would be unsatisfied with the job edsel did... you were going to send them congratulations as a matter of fact, "for a job well done."

funny how you got off your high-horse when you heard the shit poor quality. and even funnier that you are yourself are not satisfied with the replacement! ha ha ha!

Have you maybe considered the first copy i got wasn't one of the dodgy ones ?. Because the replacement i recieved has bad pops and clicks especially on track 3 . That's the only way i can explain it because i never heard those noises on my original copy. ha ha ha! They still did a good job with those remasters Edsel a hell of a lot better than those NO remasters that's for sure.

Hi, I have just received my replacement copy of CD2 of 'Into The Gap'. The first thing i played was track 3 'You take me up'. It is improvement over the first copy. As the track has been mastered from Vinyl, you still get the odd crackle and pop. But the sound quality has been improved, as much as it can be. It is more noticable on the backing vocals, they don't sound as fuzzy as they use to be.

2 questions for you: how are these replacement discs packaged(w/cover art, etc)?

are you in the states?

Hi DJ Phoenix, the disc was packaged in a plastic cd slip and there was a peice of cardboard to protect it from getting damaged. It was just disc2, no artwork and sent by post in a postpak envelope. I live in Australia, so i didn't think that they would post it so far from England.
