The most New Wave Next Wave?

Postby Frau_Blucher » Sun Mar 15, 2009 1:17 am

I suppose we throw the term Next Wave around pretty loosely. Who cares. But what's actually some of the MOST New Wave Next Wave songs in your mind? My picks this morning all seem a little John Hughes happy poppy...

Out of the new bands I've run into lately these two seem a bit more retro than others

Synthesized by Epoxies is total new wave sounding. It has a chord progression that's a dead ringer for Masquerade by Berlin as well.

oh--and definitely a new discovery. "Could this Be" by Lovers Electric. Very hot. It's only released as a single so far. Hope they release a full CD.

I've found nothing from My Favorite's catalog online. It's a dark day for the Internet. (And not for the lack of trying, either.)

It's THRILLING! It's GLORIFICENT! It's the best thing to happen to the Internet since the New Wave Outpost! Click away and taste unbridled euphoria!

This is awesome. I found a bunch of his stuff (he has like 3 CDs) and I like it. It's really synthy, retro, and spacey-sounding. Favorite: "Times Is Weird".
