Tom Tom Club - Debut 2CD with "Close To The Bone"

Postby mojowkn » Wed May 20, 2009 1:23 am

Just got an email from Amazon telling me it's not in stock and they're still "trying to get it," so I'll continue to hope it'll arrive soon. Probably just a supply delay. No-one's actually received one yet, right? Ideal Copy also still shows pre-order. Amazon.co.uk has it, and I just ordered it from there to see if it can beat amazon.com.

Amazon UK shipped my copy on the 18 May (to Australia) so it should be arriving any day now.

With the removal of VAT and the favourable exchange rate, Amazon UK is the best option at the moment, for example the Siouxsie boxset will land for a total US$42, Amazon US is selling it for US$59 + postage

I lucked into finding a copy at my favorite cd store in Seattle. While not cheap (I got it for $29.99 with a $5 off coupon), it was worth the wait to finally get "Close To The Bone" on cd. This set makes for great summertime listening!

is it just the amazon listings or have they left off the 12" versions of Wordy and Genius?

No it's correct, they are not on this set. Annoyingly.

it's probably because the original pressing with the 12" versions is still in print, and only 6.99 on amazon. It's the same thing that happened with the Book of Love debut CD. They're reissuing it as two discs, but the original pressing is still in print, so they didn't include ANY of the same bonus tracks. Quite honestly, with the questionable sources discs are mastered from these days, I'd feel better keeping my original pressings anyway.

One of my favorite purchases of '09 thus far. The sound quality is great! I highly recommend this release.
