Interesting...No "Cuts You Up" as an encore, or even in the set list. Also, I dont know if next Fridays(6/12) Vegas show is happening? have seen NO adverts for it, no mentions of it anywhere here in Vegas...weird. I called HOB about it, and the girl there didn't even know who he was, I had to explain it to her. She then asked "where did you get the info of him coming here?" I said" From his website", she said "oh". Ill keep you all posted. I'll be a little disappointed if he doesn't do "CYU", as it's my favorite all time PM song.

Weird, that it shouldve been at least mentioned by someone? I mean, last year, i saw ads for it a month-2 months out, and i was really stoked. I still am, but will disappointed if the show is not on.

I wish he'd play "Crystal Wrists"...Thats my second favorite PM song...the setlists must change nightly? No Marlene Dietrich, no Seven Veils....WTF?

*UPDATE* I just went on Pete's website...and the June 12th show isn't listed anymore.....WTF?

I'm hoping he plays Cuts You Up in Tempe, just so my drummer can hear it (we cover the song, and he's new to PM). I'm also hoping for All Night Long, which he didn't play on the last tour (but played the next night in San Diego). I'm pretty certain Pete likes to mix it up from show to show, but this set list definitely isn't the 'hits package' he played last tour. Can't wait to see him next Sunday. Coop, are you going?

I think he is mixing up the setlist, someone posted on his MySpace thanking him for playing The Weight of Love and Give What He's Got on the second stop of the tour.
I email Hina at His site and she said that the venue determines whether or not cameras are allowed. So I'll call my venue the night before the show I see if I can take some shots.

Offhand, setlist above looks about like what he did in Anaheim, although I'm not familiar with Peter Murphy's stuff prior to Should the World Fail to Fall Apart so I could be off a bit.

A little surprised (and disappointed, personally) he played nothing from Unshattered. Great show, though.

Last night's Tempe show was terrific. Very small crowd, but also zero promotion for this show (outside of New Times and the internet). I can't really post an accurate set list, because of the new songs and covers confusing me a bit, but am pretty sure it's similar to the Seattle list above, maybe a little shorter. A few differences I can point out:

Time Has Got Nothing To Do With It (minus drums)
In Every Dream Home A Heartache (very cool arrangement)

At the end of A Strange Kind Of Love, he sang the first few lines from Bela Lugosi's Dead (interesting hybrid).

This was a very different set for Pete, a lot of missing 'hits', but seeing him five times already, I didn't mind. He has a new album coming out later this year, and you gotta figure that tour will bring back the stuff like Cuts You Up, You're So Close, etc. His band is fantastic, lots of energy, and Pete was very chatty between songs, almost borderline stand-up comedian at times! The new songs rock, comparable to the upbeat material on Deep and Holy Smoke. I think the new album is going to be better than Unshattered, judging from last night's preview. Definitely catch this show, if you can.

That's what i thought was so weird about his tour, that there was literally NO promotion for it whatsoever. THat's why I think the Vegas show was cancelled? it wasn't like last time he came here, where we knew about it 1-2 months out, this one just sort of "popped up" all of a sudden like.

Hopefully, he shows in Vegas for the next tour.

Note to EVERYONE: GO SEE HIM IF YOU CAN, you will NOT be disappointed.

Pete has long been one of my favorite performers, and as a teen about the time Bauhaus split, I could have even been described as fanatical. That said, I've only managed to see him live three times, and none recent.

The first show was in support of Love Hysteria and from the moment the curtains went up, it was everything I dreamed it would be. He was a dynamic and animated Pete. HOWEVER, the second time I saw him- in Houston after Deep was released- was quite a contrast. It was an unenthusiastic Pete that spent the entire short show planted on one side of the stage singing ably enough, but without any movement and with zero banter between songs. We all thought he might be ill, or perhaps at odds with the promoters...we could only guess but something was definitely not right.

Has anyone else out there seen Pete just go through the motions like that? Any idea beyond a guess what was going on at that show?
