<br>I just received word from an Email response from Rhino Records it reads

"Thank you for your email and your patience. The replacement New Order discs are scheduled to become available on 8/25/09. Also at that time, the 5 albums will be re-released to retail outlets, with upgraded audio

If you would like to receive corrected replacement discs, please reply to this email with your name, shipping address, a list of the discs that you need replaced and a digital photo of your discs. We will send out your replacements as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding in this matter."

so there you go if you want replacement discs I guess you will need to email and take pictures of your physical discs and cover.

I dont have a digital camera, nor a way to take pics and send them to them. Hell, I could just send them back the ones I bought?

I must say this is the dumbest idea i think ive ever heard. What's to stop people taking photos of their mates CDs and claiming the fixed ones when they never owned them in the first place and do they expect everybody to go out and buy a digital camera if they don't own one. This is the biggest cockup i think ive ever witnessed and it could have been avoided if only somebody with half a brain had listened to these before they were released to the general public. I never bought the dodgy versions because of the reviews and i doubt i will buy these fixed ones either because they can get stuffed.

digital cameras are pretty inexpensive. most phones have cameras now. hell, they sell them at toys r us for kids. or perhaps you could ask a friend to help you? take your picture on their phone? or with a digital camera? i assume that you have a computer, as you post here; and pictures are sent via computer, so see? you DO have a way to send one. maybe someone you know has a mac with built-in camera and they can help you? i mean, a digital picture is free, and costs nothing to send. unlike sending cds back to the record company.

oh wait, was that your doorbell? okay, i'll wait.

hey you're back! who was it?

ah, yes, the 21st century. you should probably invite it in.

What's worse is no-one will accept the blame. The label blames the band (ie.Peter Hook), and Peter Hook blames the label. It's rather pathetic.

As did I....they need the "matrix numbers" from my cd's, what are those(sorry if thats a stupid question, just never knew). Also, they're claiming not all of the "re-remasters" are fixed, wtf does this mean:

(email verbatim):

Dear Jeff,

Thank you for your email and your patience. The replacement New Order
discs are scheduled to become available on 8/25/09. Also at that time,
the 5 albums will be re-released to retail outlets, with upgraded audio.

If you would like to receive corrected replacement discs, please reply
to this email with your name, shipping address, a list of the discs that
you need replaced and the matrix numbers from your discs. We will send
out your replacements as soon as possible.

Please note: Our production department has recently reminded me that, in
accordance with our initial statement, only the bonus discs of each New
Order reissue have been corrected. The exception to this is disc one of
Technique.

Dr. Rhino

So, does this mean that technique doesnt need the "replacement" treatment, or what, Im confused?

Sounds like they did some tinkering on all of the discs (9 out of 10), and whatever production problems there were on Technique Disc 1 are still unfixed. Sounds like disc 2 of Technique has been cleaned up. Wow, what a clusterf#$k. Makes you wonder how these people get these jobs in the first place. Just wait like another 8 months and then Disc 1 of Technique will be repaired too.

If I screwed up like this at my job, I wouldn't even get a chance to pick up my stuff at my desk, I'd have to search for it in the trash outside the building.

Hang on - to be fair surely what they're saying is that only the bonus discs have been corrected (ie Disc 2) except for Technique, where Disc 1 has been corrected as well. That's how it reads to me.

that is what I understand it to be as well
so no digital photos required?

the matrix number is found on the are around the hole in the middle of the disk
