Fabulous Poodles/The Truth

Fabulous Poodles/The Truth

I read on another music site that American Beat Records is going to reissue "Mirror Stars+Think Pink" by The Fabulous Poodles as a two-fer, and also "Playground" by The Truth, on August 11. I'd provide a link to their website but it's non-functional at the moment.

It's on the Collectors' Choice website as they now own the label:

You can thank me for this reissue. The label was (until very recently) run by my very good friend, and I recommended this to him a couple of years ago. It took EMI a while to find the tapes. My friend had not heard of them until I told him; he listened once and and fell in love instantly. A fabulous power pop/pub rock album!!! I wish it had the US album artwork, but that's only a minor issue. It's on iTunes, too.

The one thing I've noticed about American Beat two-fers is that they usually omit one song from the original two albums, but upon looking at the track listing for the CD, both albums look complete.

Too bad they couldn't get the four songs from the "Unsuitable" album to use as bonus tracks on this particular release. Hopefully another reissue label will pick up the slack and release the Poodles' first two UK albums as a two-fer (wishful thinking, I know).
