The Mondays came to Long Island during their heyday. I saw them at the Malibu and they were wacked out of their minds. Great show, great Long Island night for music. Autographs afterwards. It was brilliant.

Bizarre combo. Happy Mondays aren't actually opening for the P-Furs are they? I've always thought the latter were probably one of the most overrated new wave bands ever. They couldn't hold the Mondays' jockstrap. Weird.

Outside of their obvious hits (which were pretty amazing IMHO), I couldn't really get into the Furs. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing them.

I have tix for the 9/22 show in Vegas. I've seen the Furs before...they are WONDERFUL live. Richard Butler really likes to play w/the crowd during their sets, he's very playful, and fun. He still sounds very very good. Looking forward to this show.

I actually won tickets to see Happy Mondays back in '89 or '90, can't remember. The gig was at the Sound Factory in NYC and they were doing this Hacienda on The Hudson sort of thing. 808 State and Adamski opened and a young Paul Oakenfold was one of the many DJs spinning that night. Weird night!

Speaking of the Furs, I've seen them a bunch a times, and I don't know why. I've always found their shows to be a tad mediocre. And how many more times are they going to constantly milk the nostalgia bandwagon? Sheesh... call it day already.

Well, if the Mondays don't first kick the shit out of the Furs it could be a good show. One band in jail and one in hospital could bode ill. Tbone and I are planning on the SLC show on 9/12.

When I saw Paul Ryder in those interviews on the 24 Hour Party People DVD, I'm surprised that he's still walking.

Well, that's a relief. I'd hate to see the tour end up on an episode of Bully Beatdown. But if it does I'll put my money on Butler. A few well-placed cigarette burns and Ryder will tap out in no time. Seriously, I'm lookin forward to it Mr. Tbone.

I just discovered this disc a few days ago, and I'm floored. I had no idea he had such a good album in him. It sounds very modern, yet Richard still has that same, smooth punk sneer.

Have the Furs sounded shitty so far on this tour? they had a write up about them here in Vegas, and they said that there were rumors that they didnt sound too great, and were phoning it in?
