sounds great, I will do the Dec 4 show. I'm not too much for anything else this Fall (didnt like English Beat, saw Psych Furs enough times lately, don't want to see Book of Love, and unsure about Revolting Cocks but thats a maybe...) Money is tight, but NE is worth it...

Anyone else go to any shows on this tour? Doug was pretty effing incredible in NYC. New material sounds really good and the crowd (at least on the floor - not the duds in the seats sitting down) were insatiable...

Kudos to NE.

Saw them late last month, and loved it. They played in a very small club, and was up front, stage left. Douglas really knows how to play the crowd. I swear, watching him, he could front any band, and with authority. He reminded me often of Mick Jagger, the way he runs around on stage. Great stage presence. Just bought their new album on Amazon.com yesterday (only $8.99), and though I haven't had a chance to listen to it, I did enjoy the new songs they played. They can come around here anytime. I would be there for sure.

Nitzer Ebb @ Marquee Theatre, Tempe, AZ
12.16.09, $25

Awesome show last night. It was a small, but loud, dancey crowd. The band came out and tore through 18 songs, pretty much touching on all of their albums, except for Big Hit. The new songs are great, some are reminiscent of their earliest singles and That Total Age, others sound more like Ebbhead-Big Hit era. This album is WAY better than Big Hit. The digipak CD was $15, and I bought a very cool-looking gray Control I'm Here shirt ($25). I'll have to post pics of the merchandise later. Douglas had a cold, but he still sang/yelled great (using throat spray between songs). There was no stage decoration whatsoever. Bon Harris stood behind his workstation, beating drum pads, playing a midi marimba with mallets (which triggered synth pads and sustained bass notes), and running the sequences on a Mac. He did take the front of the stage for Getting Closer. A live drummer played a small kit with triggers. High-energy set, lots of singing along from the crowd, just a fun night overall.

Set List:

Time Slips By (Intro music)
Promises
Let Your Body Learn
Shame
Hearts and Minds (12" Mix)
Once You Say
Lightning Man
For Fun (Mix)
Hit You Back
Blood Money
Payroll
Godhead
Ascend
Down On Your Knees
Murderous
Control (I'm Here)
Join In The Chant

Getting Closer
I Give To You
