[:(!]Damn!! They still left the song "Exercise" off the Call of the West. I've still kept my original cassette tape just for that song!

Still looking for my girl with auburn hair and tawny eyes...

Wow, finally! I remember spending $66 for my CD copy of Dark Continent on eBay. This was a chunk of change, considering I was 18 ...

Just got this a few minutes ago, and have given it and investigative once over. It's from master tapes and the sound has not been brickwalled at all. Nice little booklet as well.

Lucky! Still waiting for mine from Australia. I thought it would be faster than most of the usual online retailers but I guess not. Should be this week though. As I've always told you, Dark Continent is such a GREAT album.

I agree, Dark Continent is great. I've had a CD-R of it from a mutual acquaintance for a couple of years now. Though I always wanted an original, those eBay prices were just crazy! Now it's all mine. Also, I got it from CD universe. They had it listed as "in stock" last week, so that's how I ended up with it today.

If you don't already have it, I highly suggest the Index Masters CD as well. WOV's debut EP is excellent. Ironically enough, Call Of The West is a spotty album. I've had it for about a year.

I noticed that CDU had it in stock before the official release date but I had already placed my order with Chaos ($13 total US including S&H is hard to beat) so I just left it. Yes, their first EP is great and COTW is very spotty. I know I like Mexican, Tomorrow, the title track, and Interstate but I'll be refreshed soon enough so perhaps I'll discover something else. Luckily, I was able to get $75 for my DC original on Ebay literally the day before the first posting of this thread (sorry, but I wasn't sharing the news LOL). Just in the nick of time as everyone who sold theirs after me only got twenty something. Whew!
UPDATE: Arrived today and looks great!

Dark Continent was also reissued on an some random Italian label (Viva Italia?) in 1996. I bought it on a lark from cdbaby.com a few years ago because I had recently heard "Back In Flesh" and liked it. It had none of their hits on it, and I had no knowledge of the album when it was new, but I really enjoy it.

Any word on how this release sounds? Any better than the original IRS cd's?
