Kudos to Sheppard Smith of FOX News for speaking out against Robertson's derangement.

Smith has been a voice of moderation on quite a few occasions. I expect he'll take a lot of heat from FOX viewers for daring to criticize the fundies and extremists on the right.

Good for Shep -- I think Katrina was a big wake up call for him and ever since then he seems to be one of the few voices of conscience and reason on that otherwise politically-skewed and divisive network.

Robertson is an old looney. I think you expect wrong. He's made these insane kind of statements many times and to the best of my knowledge no one on any news network has ever said "yeah...I think he might have something here." The right thing to do would be to ignore this senile old goat but these idiotic news blurbs make ratings.

Allegedly Robertson has a shell corp in the Caymans which, among other things, has big investments in diamond and gold exploration in West Africa.

Reminds me of a line from Jack Handy's hilarious essay <a href="http://www.newyorker.com/archive/2005/08/08/050808sh_shouts" target="new">What I'd Say to the Martians</a>:

Rush Limbaugh decided to chime in with this quote:

"Obama will use Haiti to boost credibility with light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country"

Who listens to these pricks?

Rush Limbaugh boasts 22 million listeners daily which is roughly 6% of America. The other 94% of America is too busy working and shit.[:D]

Signing a pact with the devil hasn't seemed to hurt the Dems.

Then you got Wyclef, allegedly using funds from his own charity to pay himself to perform and other improprieties.

according to a report from The Washington Post. "It seems clear that a significant amount of the monies that this charity raises go for costs other than providing benefits to Haitians in need," said Dean Zerbe, national managing director of Alliant Group, a tax services company.

How can anyone take false prophets like Pat Robetson serious? Old scam artist needs to get whapped upside the head.

I despise Rush Limbaugh but that quote is taken somewhat out of context. The light skinned/ dark skinned thing was an attempt at mocking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's remarks that Obama was a good choice as a black presidential candidate because he is light skinned. That was Reid, Rush was goofing on him.

The douchey part of Rush's remark was implying Obama was helping Haiti mainly to gain credibility with blacks.
