hey, The Xx are pretty good. A bit quiet-- and the weakest guitar parts ever (think Young Marble Giants). Check these guys out-- they look like they stepped out of 1982:

I love this psychobilly/ cow punk stuff, I think I'd be checking this band out.

That is nutty stuff TB. I'll definitely keep my eyes out for them.

On a sadder note, I went to one of my old-reliable blog sites that I use to help track and plan my way around events, only to find that its keeper had suddenly passed away at age 41. A very sad reminder that this fantasy life that all this music stuff is really all about for me isn't apart from reality.

I like their record, but holy crap... if this is what their live show is like, I'd rather bang my head against a wall.

Yeah, I can't see myself missing something else for that.

Latest word is that Metric has been added to same-bill showcases with their brothers Broken Social Scene. This is very cool. My preliminary hit list might look something like this, but there's still tons of bands to be added...

The Black Box Revelation
The Boxer Rebellion
Broken Social Scene
Cheap Trick
The Crystal Method
Darker My Love
The dB's
Deer Tick
Frightened Rabbit
Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.
Heartsrevolution
The Heavenly States
Japandroids
The Kissaway Trail
The Low Frequency In Stereo
Metric
Notekillers
65daysofstatic
We Are Scientists
We Were Promised Jetpacks
White Rose Movement
The Young Republic

Wow, theZeros, Death, and the Blue Aeroplanes added to SXSW. Seminal.

Also Band of Horses, The Besnard Lakes, BRMC, Billy Bragg, !!! (chk chk chk), Crystal Antlers, Holy Fuck, I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness, Minus the Bear, The Raveonettes, The Soft Pack, Suzanne Vega, Violens, and DJ Chicken George. Holy hell.

Okay, I don't know what that last one's all about, but I smile thinking of someone introducing themselve as "Hi, I'm DJ Chicken George. How YOU doin'?"

I followed the link, and it's pointing back to THE Members. [?][?]

Thursday at Stubb's: The Besnard Lakes, The Soft Pack, Band of Horses, and Broken Social Scene - nice!

Oh, wow -- just saw this. Terribly sad. I went to SXSW twice a few years back, and totally used this site to navigate the insane scheduling... So young, too.
