Classix Nouveaux "Liberty Singles" Jan 18, 2010.

Thanks for the input guys. Sorry for the confusion with "songwise." What I meant was how "good of an LP is it?" Sounds like I wouldn't notice the mastering job so that's good.

Songwise, it's very spotty. Better than the bombastic LaVerite', but not near as good as Night People. The two best songs, Manitor and No Other Way, are included (from masters) on the original Best Of CD.

Yes, but stupid Jay Ebayed his spotless Very Best Of thinking the Singles Collection would suffice. So I was debating over getting the VBO again or Secret. You would think I would have learned my lesson by now after With Sympathy in 8/08 (still pissed), but somehow I continue to to this. Thanks again for your opinion, Scott. And for turning me on to Manitou years ago! Oh, and LaVerite was stinky. Ebayed that years ago.

Hi guys!

I just want to say "thank you" to the Cherry Red Records to release this compilation. And of course to Sal Solo for his words about each song in the booklet.

About the sound quality, is good... only the Chemin Chagrin and Manitou (instrumental) are pure vinyl source! My rate to this compilation is 4/5

In my opinion, all the Classix Nouveaux albums, compilations and DVDs are very welcome because this band deserves our attention!
My hope is one day a DVD compilation with all the videos, tv shows, live concerts, etc!

this is the full track list

1. Nasty Little Green Men - 3:15
2. Test Tube Babies - 2:47
3. Guilty (New Single Version) - 3:13
4. Night People - 3:53
5. Tokyo - 2:39
6. Old World For Sale - 2:36
7. Inside Outside (Extended Version) - 4:11
8. Every Home Should Have One (Extended Intro) - 3:57

10. Never Again (The Days Time Erased) (Extended Version) - 5:20
11. 627 - 2:30
12. Is It A Dream - 4:01
13. Where To Go - 3:16
14. Because You're Young - 3:22
15. It's Not Too Late - 3:25
16. The End... Or The Begining (Extended Version) - 5:48
17. Chemin Chagrin - 3:40

I don't think you're correct in saying those are the only 2 tracks from vinyl, as the "special mastering" credit refers to all the 12" mixes too - why would these need "special mastering" unless they were taken from vinyl?

What I tried to say was that two songs didn´t have the same treatment like the rest of the compilation. In this two songs you can hear lots of pops, clicks and noise from vinyl.

In my opinion, the Liberty Singles Collection is a must have for any CN fan.

They are not all from vinyl because Cherry Red Records used the master tapes from "Night People" and "La Verité albums to reissue in CD few years a go!

The only vinyl tracks I hear in this compilation are Chemin Chagrin, Switch and Manitou (instrumental). The rest of the compilation is from master tapes, for sure.

So aside from the 12" extended versions everything else is from the master tapes? This is good to know, how does the 12" extended versions sound?

Hey, take easy.

I think the album version = single version. The time is equal.

http://www.discogs.com/Classix-Nouveaux ... ase/606775

for a full Classix Nouveaux discography you can check here:

http://discogs.h17.ru/discographies/cla ... uveaux.htm

I know that there is a different version on Classics Album but not edited as the single version in the U.K..

I hope this can help you.

cheers
