Buggles "Adventures In Modern Recording"

Buggles "Adventures In Modern Recording"

Just bought it yesterday.Impressed with the track selection and the bonus material (an early version of Dollar's Videotechque included). This album truly highlighted Trevor Horn's early production genius and his forthcoming work with the likes of Abc,Frankie,Art Of Noise,Grace Jones,Pet Shop Boys,Seal etc . Anyone else have the new 2010 remaster ?

Yes, got it yesterday. I agree! The only thing I could complain about is that they did not include the 12" version of Blue Nylon! It is mentioned in the booklet, but not included on the CD, a bit strange, especially since there would have been room for it.

I love Trevor's vocals. I think he is really underrated in that department.

One of the greatest bands ever and I wish they would have made another album. Trevor and Geoffrey were a great team and the musical talent is incredible. I think we sometimes miss how great of voice Trevor has because of the great instrumentation and the robotic effects that get added. For those of you who owned that tribute to Trevor Horn dvd, his voice just blew me away. Try singing along, most of us really can't. [:)]

Can't wait to get this one because of all those bonus tracks which are unreleased so far and were not included on the japanese version I already own. Nevertheless it's a shame that the Blue Nylon 12" version is still missing on official cd.

Cheers,

Prior to this reissue, I don't believe they've reissued anything for a decade or so.

Plastic Age was reissued with bonus tracks about 10 years ago, with a Japanese mini-lp version shortly after.

Adventures In Modern Recording had previously been issued on cd only in Japan, first without and then with the bonus tracks. That was back in the 90s.

Oh I forgot, they also didn't include the 12" version of On TV, instead they included a previously unreleased demo version dated 21 Jan 1981.

RememberTheEighties.com - it's the 80s... up to date!No it's not [:p] THE BUGGLES are to release an expanded edition of their 'Adventures in Modern Recording' album, described as a 'deluxe reboot' and featuring the orginal album alongside ten bonus tracks including demos, b-sides and remixes. The album is due for release on April 19th

That mioght be true..however...I know for a fact I picked up a re-released "Plastic Age" last yeat sometime. I dont have it in front of me to see if it's the Japanese version, but I do remember having to special order it, and it took some time for it to come in. Might've been the Japanese one...not sure. I just know I bought a re-issue of PA last year sometime, might even have been in '08, but I do remember buying one.

Ill double check the release date on the back, and so forth.

I have an "Adventures In Modern Recording" reissue that's dated 1999 (from Japan) and a "Living In The Plastic Age" reissue dated 2002 (a UK Island Pressing).

I believe those to be the last reissues until now.

The Age Of Plastic [SHM-CD] [Limited Release] was released in Japan in 2008 also check this out due for release on the 24th Feb http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=UICY-94425 Annoys the hell out of me why these don't get released worldwide and we have to pay extortionate prices to get them.

Thanks Moni. That probably explains the reissue DJ Phoenix mentioned.

The SHM trend has really caught on in Japan. When I was in Tokyo a little over a year ago there were oodles of new "SHM" reissues coming out every single week. I was amazed that the market could support the volume I was seeing. That said, I admit that even I was temporarily mesmorized by "SHM" titles!
