<br>I have the DVD DTS 5.1 Surround Sound version of Simple Minds' "New Gold Dream" which features several before unavailable remixes. Tracks 1 and 4 to 9 are presented in remixed/extended versions unique to this version of the album. And also a bonus track was included: In Every Heaven which clocks at 4:55.

Maybe these tracks or some of them will be used as bonus tracks for the collectors edition - besides the regular 12" versions and b sides of the singles [:p]

There aren't going to be any collector's editions in the foreseeable future unfortunately. The way the keep cancelling releases of their back catalogue you would think they were ashamed of it or something.

A question, are the mixes playable as normal cd tracks or only as DTS?

The otherwise unreleased mixes -which are included on DVD DTS 5.1 Surround Sound version of Simple Minds'"New Gold Dream"- are NOT playable as normal cd tracks.

I wasn't even able to rip this DVD Audio and to transfer the songs to mp3 - to make them listenable in my car.[:(]

what a drag - and i was about to ask you if you'd be so kind as to post the exclusive mixes since this is out of print and the only used copy i see listed on amazon is $180!

i'm thinking the problem lies more with virgin records uk than it does with simple minds. i've been told xtc has had similar problems with the label, and that supposedly virgin has tried to screw the band financially. really sucks because deluxe 2 cd reissues and dvds (more in simple minds case) and cd single box sets for both simple minds and xtc would be fantastic!

p.s. do you by chance have a stand alone cd burner and a mixer? if so, you could burn the tracks onto a blank cd... i've done it for lots of my stuff and it sounds great. for instance, the 5.1 mix of u2's 'rattle and hum' (since u2 has yet to issue the album with all the tracks/ versions of tracks from the film)

Isn't there a DVD-Video layer, with 2-channel audio? If so, it's easy enough to rip the audio from that.

The dude who does the DreamGiver site actually had an mp3 of New Gold Dream available, with the extended intro.

Anyone knows what's with these remasters by any chance?
Are they ever going to be released or not?
All I know is they have been put up on hold for an unlimited time earlier this year. They should've been issued last month.
Many thanks in advance. :-)
