The Buggles - Adventures In Modern Recording

Ah, the c.a.r. series is long since discontinued. I just master songs as necessary for the ipod. Though I still love purchasing physical product, and always will, I had too many CD-r's rot over time, losing all my work. So I decided to store everything on external computer hard drives and upload to my ipod.

I'm thinking the Blue Nylon mix may not be much other than repeated segments.I heard the On TV mix and it just repeats a couple of parts, it's not like a "real" 12" mix, if you will. The u.s. Clean Clean 12" is the same way, just a bunch of repeated segments. Perhaps we'll find out soon...

Don't know which On TV mix you've heard, but the one on the French maxi single is not just "repeated parts" it's a proper remix not at all like the promo version of Clean, Clean which *is* just a re-edit.

I only heard a poor quality mp3 a while back. I may just need to hear it again.

Well that's a bummer about the CDR-rot. I haven't encountered it just yet. Any particular artist/CDR brand I should look out for? Is it something visible on the CD itself? Ofcourse I have yet to make it to the IPOD/digital era (surprise, surprise).

I am super excited! I have been waiting for this. I know about ten years ago a Geoff Downes contact of mine said that there was another Aventures... demo track called "Sandyatchs and ... ? That he (Downes)mentioned along with "Riding a Tiger" (I remembered it as Tiger not Tide). I wonder where that track ended up?

Who Cares?

This is Great News!

Pinky, it's no particular brand. I just ended up with a batch of bum burners, and found discs becoming unplayable or distorted after time. They look fine, you would just start hearing static in the music, especially tracks further into the cd, then some could not track to the later songs on the cd and return errors. Boo...

Nothing against you Moni but it's really annoying when a site post something like this without at least saying this a planned release for early 2010 or something. [}:)]

I remembered that the track as riding a tiger- why did they title it different? I know that Downes and Hughes had a similar song titled Ride the Tiger or Riding? I wonder if that is why? I've heard the Adventures album so many times- it was great to hear the extras, no matter how obscure, unfitting, unproduced some might seem compared to the Adventures collection- I am so pleased to enjoy the tracks :) I guess the track "Sandyachts & Thermal Rollers" will remain a mystery....for now?
