ARCADIA So Red The Rose 2010 UK Collectors Edition

Postby Andee1970 » Sun Apr 04, 2010 10:38 pm

Wait for the next two Duran issues and then it will be six, followed by the next 2 Spandau, so including them and the duan and this, that will be 9 fucked up remasters in what four months or so.......waste of fucking cash....

EMI doesn't give a shit! They've already pressed thousands of these horrid cds and re-doing would be too expensive and time consuming. Furthurmore both Duran and Spandau are no longer on the label so they can't really help !

Mines is at the packing stage now. Hell I'm dreading putting this in my CD player when it arrives. EMI are fly bastards they know by including the DVD which you can't buy separately that people will go for these so called remasters even after all the bad reviews just to get that. If i see that Walters person listed on this Arcadia remaster and he has fucked this up as well then they can stick Notorious and Big Thing up their arses.

I don't know how true this is but do you find iTunes mp3 players to be accurate as far as sound quality ? I've previewed Arcadia and it sounds not too bad. Only time will tell.

The snippets i listened to on amazon actually sounded ok but i just wonder if those were from the original CD and just labelled as the 2010 ones. I suppose i will find out soon enough mines was shipped today so i should receive it by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Somebody else has written a review about this on amazon giving it 4 out of 5 but won't comment on the sound quality.

OK, so there is a response on the review that it is in fact remastered by the dreaded Andy Walter. However, the reviewer said it's not bad, especially compared to the Duran disasters. Of course, I'm skeptical, and would love someone to post a screen shot of a song once they get it.

We got to remember that Andy Walters didn't do a bad job with Spandau's Diamond. Maybe he has his moments !

Im starting to sound like the Remaster police but here goes....It sounds like S**t in a microwave. Its almost like hearing music under water, muffled compressed and dead sounding. This guy should have his ears removed.

Just listening to it now it does sound way better than those Duran Duran ones but why do they have to make it so fucking loud. I could do the same job with my audio cleaning lab with the original CD.

Do any on the bonus tracks sound as if they were from a vinyl source ? Listening to the FGTH reissue again a lot of the bonus cuts are vinyl sourced it seems.

definatly messed up the levels on this one as well...and on both cd's

i ran Election Day (Consensus Mix) in audition and guess what... brickwalled!!! then i ran the same song that can be found as part of the unofficial cd single box set and the levels and quality seem to be a lot better... check out the screenshots below...
