This album came in today. It's really spectacular. Joyous pop.

Vocals sound a lot like Kirsty MacColl.

I caught these incredibly nice people at the Elm City Popfest last night. The beauty of liking small bands is in the little things like having a beer with the singers while watching the warm-up act together. And a gig in a little art gallery with 100 happy poppy people - a freaking great way to spend a Saturday night.

Mick Ronson's daughter, the lovely Lisa:

Brilliant - and synthy - Michael Grace:

The knockout backup Erin Dermody:

I don't even have any recollection that she was singing at all.

Actually in person, Ms. Ronson was the more striking figure - cool and sophisticated.

Their's going to a piece on them in the next Big Takeover (Issue #66), the 30th anniversay issue. Also a piece on the other great NYC band, The Lost Patrol[:D]

^ Random internet searches will also yield another "Lost Patrol" aka "The Lost Patrol Band." If you see a skinny guy singing pop-punk, that's not THE Lost Patrol ;) Think Cocteau Twins meets Chrissie Hynde in a Serge Leone spaghetti western.

Glad to see more attention to The Secret History as well. Lovely music doing NY proud.

Their new video for 'Johnny Nightmare'. A nice bit of sweet boppy pop, once again showcasing 'my favorite', Lisa Ronson...
