The Living Room calendar now says April 14th, and this has been confirmed by whoever is handling the Pal Shazar mailing list

less than 1 week to go
so who will be attending?
I plan on showing up 1 or 1 1/2 hours before showtime
there is table seating, and you can order food- very comfortable conditions

No no no! It's an awful place. There's no subways, the room sucks, food is crap, no one will come earlier than 5 minutes before the show.

I've been listening to their 2 proper releases in fairly heavy rotation. I'm thinking of going, although my spouse may give me crap bec. I have a show on Sat nite (the wedding present) and then Friday nite (Graham Parker). As long as work doesn't throw me any curve balls, I'd love to check out this early early new wave band. Sounds like it'll be a hoot.

According to the Living Room <a href="http://www.livingroomny.com/calendar" target="_new">schedule</a>, slow children will be playing a one hour set starting at 7PM. It's gonna be very tough for me to get into the city by that early time. I'll see what I can do, though.

Andrew soundchecking his guitar to Nirvana - hilarious! Pal starting her soundchecking now with President Am I. It's like sitting in their living room whole they just fuck around. This is amazing. And there's no one here. Christalmighty.

Well maybe 50-60 people showed up (probably 50% or more were family and friends) including myself, Blir and Yachtingtype!! Nice to meet you.

A very good 1 hour set, including a few new songs, as well as President Am I and Spring in Fialta. Pal was her usual antic self. channeling Patti Smith but still making her own unique style work for the songs. How can she rifle off all those complex lyrics without flubbing them?

For me the only downside was no synth. Maybe next time?

Pal and Andrew were quite cordial, happy to autograph records afterwards. And someone was good enough to pass out free Slow Children pins.

More Slow Children to come evidently- stay tuned.

It was nice to meet you Schwenko and Blir, both

The show was a lot of fun! Pal and Andrew had a lot of fun on the stage performing their old tracks as well as a few new ones (which were not bad, at all!). I loved hearing "Brazilian Magazines" that was the highlight for me. I could have sworn but the man in the orange shirt who was sitting with Pal's family behind me looked so familiar as if he could have been in a new wave band himself.

I'm pretty sure that was Jules Shear, Pal's husband or ex-husband. It was definitely a friends and family affair with many of the folks really reaching out and engaging us. That vibe was really really cool. A great night wholely outside the music even. Somevises to follow.
