Jesus and Mary Chain

I never got around to buying the Jesus and Mary Chain remasters from a few years ago. Are they rubbish or could I justify dropping a few dollars for them?

The coolest Mary Chain stuff to come out was, by far, the first disc of the box set. You can pick and choose off iTunes if you want. Just a useless opinion from a major fan. There's some really beautiful stuff on that first disc.

I wouldn't know. They're those godawful "dualdiscs," which none of the CD players I have will play...

Didn't Rhino release standard discs of all of the albums in 2008?

if you don't mind not having liner notes, there's an "original album series" set available on amazon with just the discs in cardboard sleeves: 5 albums including psychocandy, darklands, automatic, honey's dead, and stoned and dethroned. You can buy it new on the amazon marketplace for 20 dollars and then you have everything you really need by them.

The "Original Album Series" are not remastered. And yes, there are standard remastered CDs now available, which replaced the dualdiscs.
