Very good points, plagiarism.

It's a bit like using a limited dataset such as your local weather to prove (or disprove) climate change.

I have something akin to "Cadillac healthcare": I don't pay much for it, I can choose whether I want HMO, PPO, or Kaiser/HMO, crappy dental coverage, and a vision plan. I haven't seen any change, but, then, I haven't used any of it in 3.5 years.

One thing for sure, I used to work in the medical industry for 10 years doing all kinds of crap: telephone operator, reception, appointment desk, records, training new employees, data entry, etc. I have seen people be denied care over and over and over - some of 'em ended up dead after succumbing to their chronic ailments. I've also seen doctors treat patients as personal cash machines whenever they saw the insurance company paid. Actually, working in the billing dept., I'd see all kinds of double-charging. You couldn't possibly make this shit any worse than what it was. The biggest mistake nobama made is have these fuckers sit at the table to negotiate the terms for their malfeasance and medical negligence[}:)]
Max, other reasons that might have caused your health insurance to go up:

* You have a bunch of sick co-workers and/or their families.

* Your employer passed more of the insurance expenses on to the employees.

* Your employer has fewer employees, making your company a bigger risk to insure.

These are all market-based forces, which to many, are good.

Then there's the possibility that this is flat-out price gouging, because the insurance companies can get away with it. There's certainly enough fear, uncertainty, and doubt out there that this is the path to socialism. The insurance companies had better get their profits now.

Did a little digging last night and guess what? All of the above apply.

We have an employee whose wife is going through radical cancer treatments ($15,000 a day what I was told) plus one that didn't make it for the same reason.

All of us are paying more for our insurance.

We lost about half of our workforce in the last 8 months.
