<br>WOW...USA robbed on their third goal.

The fix was in.

That referee seemed anti-USA from what I saw in the second half. I was cheering for the US and they almost pulled it off. Pretty exciting 50 minutes I watched. I have no idea why that third goal didn't count.

Absolutely terrible officiating throughout the game, there is no explanation of any sort for the foul on the 3rd goal (an unbelievable piece of history ripped from the USA).

Always nice when the ref refuses to explain the call. If he fucked up, at least come clean. Refusing to explain his thoughts/observations at the time only serves to spotlight his apparent incompetence.

I don't think the ref was anti-US. I think he was incompetent. If he were against the US, Dempsey would have at least had a yellow card, and possibly red, in the first minute with that elbow to the head.

What I find disappointing, but not surprising, is that it appears that all this has been sanitized from the fifa.com site as if it never happened. Fifa should show some leadership here instead of hiding from the controversy. I guess England helped out the USA by stinking out the joint against Algeria today. Oh, blimey.

just watched the game late..... should have been 3:2
they showed some US players being held by Slovenians when the third goal was scored. Maybe someone knows why the goal was disallowed?

fun game though, great comeback from US, and must be very disappointing for Slovenians to concede a 2:0 lead. It seemed Slovenians had the win locked at half-time

Australia was a man down for most of the match, and Ghana could not capitalize on that

That was one of the worst performances I've seen by England and Algeria should of won. The bird perched on top of the net wasn't daft: "Hmm, Heskey's playing this way, I'll be safe here this half."

We now have to beat a team who's going to defend for the whole game to get the point they need to qualify and fustrate us even more.

I keep thinking of 'Breaking Away' while watching New Zealand vs Italy. New Zealand are the townies and the cheating Italians are the cheating Italians.
