Heaven 17 - Penthouse & Pavement "luxury deluxe"

Well, I'm a BEF/H17 fan and collector and I believe that there was TOO MUCH Billie Godfrey at the recent gigs...

Great, thanks.
I wonder what rarities they'll come up with for cd2.
There aren't that many rarities from the P&P album. All 7" and 12" vinyls from the P&P era are still widely available.
I guess it'll be the bonus tracks from the latest re-issue + the bonus tracks from itunes.
We'll see...

From Martyn's blog:

Off to Abbey Road today to master the Collectors Edition of Penthouse and Pavement 2CD plus DVD box set out in November

CD2 is a 56 minute 20 track CD of unearthed demos from 1980 which even Glenn and myself had not heard for 30 years -we'd forgotten they still existed!

I expect the DVD will be that concert that was on the BBC earlier this year. Can't say i'm excited about the prospect of a CD full of demo versions to be honest.I wonder if they will use the 2006 remaster for the main album because any new remaster is certain to sound horrible and that 2006 one was perfect. Amazon has the release date down as the 4th October no price yet but let's hope it's sensibly priced not like those Duran Duran ones.

I preordered from HMV £8.99 is a steal for 2 discs and a DVD more than what can be said for those rip off bastards EMI selling those Duran Duran ones for £19.99. No tracklistings to be found anywhere yet though.

I think i'm going to cancel my preorder after seeing that tracklisting because it's bollocks. I have no interest in a CD of bloody demo versions and i have the concert and documentary on my Sky+ box.

very strange tracklist... remove the bonustracks from the last remastered version + make us buy a 2cd/dvd and 2dvd set with the documentary featuring in both versions (dvd only version with extra stuff). I don't get it, seems a rather strange choice to me. they could have put the promo video for Penthouse on that 2dvd set + make it 2cd + 2dvd set, as the dvd in the collectors edition is rather redundant.
demos are interesting for me personally, but I can see that some are rather unhappy with that choice as well.
