I saw that vid. Pretty incredible how much emotion and passion is transferred from that guy to the muppets. I liked it-- Under Pressure one of my favorite songs (and has an obvious liberal perspective).

The video shows a homeless guy (who's probably not homeless, but whatev) performing "Under Pressure". Only a dope would assume that the song was chosen without regard for its message. And only a jackass with no self-awareness and compromised judgment would start a confrontation over an embarrassingly minor and substance-free point.

Maybe you also think The Alarm has no political subtext (meanwhile, <a href="http://www.pandora.com/music/artist/alarm" target="_new">bios</a> <a href="http://www.enotes.com/contemporary-musicians/alarm-biography" target="_new2">for the band</a> usually start out,"The Alarm combined punk influences with acoustic guitars and political and sociological messages..."), and that comments about the political subtext of a song or artist is verboten on this site. Well, in fairness you could just as easily apply those lyrics to the life of Mother Theresa and they'd work. They're not too far off from "We Are The World" in that regard (although they're attached to a much better song than that bloated Mike Curb-style singalong). It's a universal theme that anyone can grab on to, although I think the construction of the song and the performances are what really makes it a classic. This song is the definition of dynamic.

I will say there's nothing more stirring than the moment when Freddie Mercury crashes through and sings "Why don't we give love that one more chance...". It's the sound of a million would-be arena rockers getting schooled on how you're supposed to do this stuff. [;)]

When I listen to Queen I feel the urge to pump my fist in the air and belt out the songs along with Freddie, not a good idea if you're a baritone and you're driving.
