If anyone hasn't seen this yet, Nick Heyward's two albums get the deluxed treatment.. yes it's Cherry Red so not sure if this is from the actual masters but the bonus discs have many tracks not available on cd before. Crossing my fingers the masters were used...

North of A Miracle
cdbred474

Released on 18/10/10. Nick Heyward’s debut album, North of A Miracle was originally released through Arista Records in October 1983. In January 1983, he departed Haircut 100 and headed straight into the studio with Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick to produce a timeless classic pop album. It was highly acclaimed by both fans and critics upon its original release and is still held in high esteem today, with Uncut magazine calling it an all time classic that fell off the radar . The album features 4 hit singles, Whistle Down The Wind , Take That Situation , Blue Hat For A Blue Day and On A Sunday .

This reissue has been personally overseen by Nick and expanded from its original 10 track form to include an additional 22 rare and unreleased recordings. These consist of b-sides, alternate versions and remixes, with 4 tracks appearing on CD for the first time. This set also includes a previously unreleased concert recorded on the North of A Miracle tour at London’s Dominion Theatre in November 83.

I have North Of A Miracle reissue from some years ago which was pretty good. This 2cd version would be a great as well, especially since Nick has been involved in the remastering.

For me personally, live tracks and demos are filler--and here, they're filler for essentially an entire second disc. These could easily have been solid single disc releases with bonus tracks.

The Entire 2nd CD is not Live only the songs with the *. Nick was behind the remastering, he is pretty particular so I am hoping that Cherry Red didn't screw anything up.

Added these to my wish list for the few songs never released on CD before and the track with Terry Hall.

Yeah for those of us who have had all the 12" and 45's.. it's great to finally have these attached to the album. They would not have all fit on a single cd with the album tracks.. Definitely worth it.

I am asking around to see if master tapes were used.

They could have added the non lp single for Japan that came out a year lady called "My Pure Lady." Would have fit in here nicely.

I think it's a sin that From Monday To Sunday was more or less ignored at the time because it's a cracking album. I will be buying both these when i can afford them and hopefully somebody will comment on the quality of these releases as well.

"Warning Sign" (at least the 12" version) is on the 2002 and subsequent reissues of Postcards From Home and is usually associated with that album even though it was a single release.

Totally agreed, Moni. I've got both these albums on order, very pleased with the track listings. I also liked seeing that Nick was overseeing the project - seems more artists should be doing that ...

I have the 2001 Camden North Of A Miracle and the sound on it is excellent. I just hope Cherry Red don't fuck it up.

Got mine today in the mail with the Belle Stars cd. Well what can i say ? I was shocked... This 2 cd re-issue is by far the best version ever. The remastering is excellent (because Nick himself was involved),not to say that the 2001 Camden version was bad. The bonus cuts including H100 live stuff as well as unreleased mixes and remixes from NOAM is the ultimate version. Money well spent ! Well done Cherry Red for once.
