I don't get Kanye West

Postby SwampThing » Thu Nov 25, 2010 4:49 am

I'm talking about his music (don't let the fact that he's a first class dick cloud this discussion).

I'm seeing all these glowing reviews and CD/MP3 sales for his latest drop.

I decide to sample it on iTunes (albeit only 30 seconds a track). It sounds like crap to my ears.

There have been many mainstream chart toppers over the last 30 years that I didn't necessarily like but I understand why others would enjoy them. Take Lady Gaga for example, occasionally I find myself humming "Poker Face". Others that come to mind: Michael Jackson (Thriller), Prince (Purple Rain), Madonna (Madonna).

Maybe some of you parents are exposed to Kanye via your teenagers (assuming you weren't able to pass on your fine musical taste). What is it that makes his music so appealing?

Damn right he ain't. Can he grow a full beard on the end of his cock? NO!

But even the teenagers are getting sick of him it seems.

I proudly hated his 'music' before it was confirmed he was a dick-licking fuck-face, and I still do.

I find nothing of value in his semi-musical ramblings and wish someone would remove his head for the good of humanity.

On Twitter Aimee_B_Loved tweeted this:
"Oh, Kanye. You are the turducken of the music world. A gifted artist stuffed in a crazy person stuffed in a total douchebag."

I'm not really a Rap fan, there are a few songs that I like, but I would define them more in the Pop/Rap genre if I had to define it.

I do like 4 of Kanye's songs:
Stronger
Gold Digger (Featuring Jamie Foxx)
Heartless
Love Lockdown

I do not like Kanye, Kesha or Lady Gaga for that matter... but all those seem to be real big now.... not sure why, because I think there is better pop/dance out there.

but I do enjoy Ne-Yo, especially his dance single Beautiful Monster which fused R&B and Electro real nice... and his latest R&B ballad One in a Million....real good I think

I also like Cascada... with Evacuate the Dancefloor, Pyromania, and the last single Night Nurse. This outfit has pleasant tunes [:D]

Still selling like crazy:
According to Hits Daily Double Kanye's Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is on pace to go gold in the first week.

Kanye's LP is also occupying the number one and number four spots on iTunes, the deluxe edition being the top seller, and the regular version down a few spots.

and I'm with Pano:
I do like 4 of Kanye's songs:
Stronger
Gold Digger (Featuring Jamie Foxx)
Heartless
Love Lockdown

and Flashing Lights

mind you I would never put on a CD of his but a good song is a good song

Never got this guy at all. Just another run of the mill rapper. I mean, who was the last Hip Hop artist to actually release anything worthwhile? Ice-T? When was that?...1990? Sheesh, 20 years and no progress at all.

Although, I shouldn't be so hard on Hip Hop if Rock'n'Roll hasn't fared much better with double the time. I wish something THIS exciting would come out today:
