I see LCD Soundsystem made it on most of the lists. Drunk Girls is my top pick for most annoying song of the year. I guess I should give the rest of it another listen.

Great lists from both you and Frau Blir ... plenty of stuff I missed. I had to download Future Islands based on your lofty recommendation! I still have to give a few more a spin this week and then it's number-crunching time. Really digging New Young Pony Club right now.

As usual Frau, a great list. Some things that I have to check out for myself. Deerhunter, I highly agree with. I think I would add Beach House and Massive Attack to the list. I also sort of liked the latest Les Savy Fav. A bunch of disappointments this year (Goldfrapp, Interpol, Scissor Sisters) I like the Suburbs at first until every one and their fucking brother shoved it down my throat!!

I've heard so much about Les Savy Fav, but it's weird that I never got around to listening. Ditto for one of my 90s favs Massive Attack.

One HUGE omission on my list is The Depreciation Guild's Spirit Youth, an unabashedly retro shoegave album and a fun band from last year's SXSW. I'd put them at near the bottom of my top 10 maybe ahead of Soundpool or Band of Horses.

I'm with Fran, a lot of good albums but not many great.

I purchased "Delphic - Acolyte" after seeing it on a few lists. I downloaded the free single (Doubt) earlier this year that I thought it was really good (but maybe a little to popish), then I read a review that scared my away from purchasing the whole release. After several listens of the full release I think it would make my top 20.

I'm tempted to buy the new Foals since I like the two free singles I downloaded and I just realized their on Sub Pop. Not sure I'm willing to pay full price at this time, hoping eMusic get this release soon.

Thumbs up - I quite liked the Two Door Cinema Club album, although tracks that didn't make the album like Kids and Costume Party are as good or better than some of the tracks they did include. I don't get that. Kids is probably my second favourite track of theirs...at least it was on the deluxe edition.

Thumbs down - 21st anniversary edition of Hup by the Wonder Stuff. Who thought this was a good idea? Why mess around with a record that was perfect to begin with? I would sooner have heard the songs live or reinterpreted or something. It just seems pointless.

they released a supplemental CD or something like that and it included remixes and Kids which was a solid song that should have been on the CD if it was done prior to putting it out.
