Scritti Politti "Absolute - The Best Of"

Postby roc51 » Wed Jan 12, 2011 3:24 pm

There seems to be alot of complaints here...I for one will buy it especially if these tracks are remastered...this could be the teaser for a forthcoming remaster campaign.

It's a fantastic way to get most of the core songs on one collection...there looks to be direct artist involvement (Green is a known perfectionist)...but a DVD would be nice...

Would be interesting to find out what a beginner would make of this compilation. On the one hand you have the perfect pop of Cupid & Psyche 85 and Provision then imagine listening to those tracks from Anomie & Bonhomie it would be like what the fuck is this the same band lol apart from Brushed With Oil, Dusted With Powder of course. It took me a while to get into Anomie & Bonhomie and i feel a lot of people felt the same way at the time. I think it would have been more sensible to remaster Cupid and Provision or as many have mentioned released a DVD with it but it's just another opportunity wasted yet again.

It would be better to release a compiltaion spanning all the 80s stuff from 1981-89 and leave the rest for later,i think.

Can't say i'm impressed with these either. I will probably buy this for a couple of quid after a few months when it doesn't sell very well. Whoever said one of the tracks sounded like Ke$ha has really increased my decision not to buy this as i hate that crap.

I'll just wait for the proper remasters,if they ever happen. Scritti never really did it for me except for Cupid & Psyche.

According to Amazon/US, this is coming out on March 8, 2001 at the crazy price of $24.99. I'd like to pick this up, but really.... People complain about the HOJO releases, but this is nuts. Like others, I'd much rather see Cupid and Provision, put out in a deluxe format with the extended singles, etc.

£8.99 on play.com

I might give this one a miss. I would prefer a delux edition of Cupid & Psyche.
