According to another person who posted on Amazon, Warner Bros withdrew their permission for Demon to release these. Hopefully it's because they're just going to release it themselves, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Record labels aren't really known for understanding what fans want.

You would have thought the first thing Demon should have done was to contact Warners to see if it was ok to reissue these and not to wait until copies were pressed and putting them up for preorder on various sites.

I thought this was odd from the get go. Only because Audio Fidelity and now Mobile Fidelity are putting a bunch of these out in remastered form on 180g LP and Gold disc at the moment. I thought it was a bit of a "flood of the market" with Car's releases. Maybe it was just a timing issue. It is a shame, was looking forward to grabbing a bunch of these, especially with the bonus tracks.

I read on another site that the licensing issue was another license that Warner Music granted for an already existing UK box which contains several of these albums packaged together.

A bit surprising that Amazon.com still lists them, which makes me wonder if they might still see release in the US?

Bummer, I was ready to order this. Release the darn cd's already. The people that want these will buy these and if it's get reissued again by Warner, will most likely buy it again. Everyone wins!

Rhino released a 5 CD box set Original Album Series last year which were just the basic albums in cardboard sleeves with no remastering or extra tracks on them. I would say there is no chance of these being released anywhere as Warner's has obviously put a block on them which begs the question i mentioned in my last post why the hell didn't Demon ask for permission in the first place[?]
